PNU community unites in multifaith prayer for peace in West Asia

In solidarity with those affected by the conflict in West Asia and in response to the global call for peace, the Philippine Normal University (PNU) Manila community held a Multi-faith Prayer Brigade for Peace on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Spearheaded by the Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office (GEDIO), in collaboration with the Global Citizenship Education Cooperation Center (GCC-Ph) and the Campus Ministry, the event took place at the PNU Grasslandia.

Bearing the theme "Prayer and Hope for Peace," the gathering aimed to bring together individuals from various religions and faith communities for a shared moment of prayer, reflection, healing, justice, and reconciliation.

Prior to the main multi-faith gathering, the PNU Campus Ministry invited the Catholic members of the university community to join in the praying of the Holy Rosary at the PNU Worship Center.

Through University Memorandum No. 084, Series of 2026, University President Dr. Bert Jazmin Tuga formally called on the PNU Manila community to participate in these meaningful activities. The memorandum emphasized that in these challenging times, the community was called to stand together in faith and compassion, lifting prayers for the restoration of peace among nations and peoples.

"Our collective prayer and presence will serve as a powerful expression of unity, solidarity, and hope," Dr. Tuga stated in the said memorandum.
